Our team meets at the intersection of chemistry, construction, and climate science. Together we are building a circular economy around underutilized biomass, while decarbonizing cement and the built environment in the process.
Tanner received a BS in Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University San Luis Obispo where he focused on organic chemistry and materials. While at Cal Poly he developed the Clearwash process during his senior project which produced a research paper that can be found on the Cal Poly commons portal titled "Selective Depolymerization of Industrial Hemp and its Effects on Thermal Resistivity. Concurrent to the research, he filed the first set of provisional patent applications in 2017 that would later be converted into the nonprovisional patent (US #11,512,427) granted in the US in November of 2022, and a second international patent pending application (WO2021168115A1).
